 legendary guru Monk Luang Phor Koon of Wat Baan Rai known as the King of Magic.Luang Phor Koon was born on the 4th October 1923 BE 2466 the year of the Pig in the rural province of Nakhon Ratchasima approximately 5 hours north of Bangkok. It was a rural up-bringing the youngster enjoyed and as a young boy, as many others young Thai boys do during the long summer holidays he went to learn and improve, his knowledge of Thai and the Pali script at a local temple.

By the time LP Koon reached the age of 21 now 1944 BE 2487 he entered the Monk Hood the ceremony taking place at Wat Thanon in the district of Baan Hak Yai not far from where Wat Baan Rai stands today; he was ordained and given his Monks name of Parisutto.By all account he was studious novice and began his learning’s in Dhamma, Sammathi and Kaan Phut with Ajarn Suk his teacher.

It is said that as a novice Monk the youngster was once given advice about his journey as a Buddhist Monk “ Nong, if you want to be a high ranking Monk, go to stay in Bangkok, If you want to be a real Monk go and stay in the jungle”. Perhaps those words stuck with Luang Phor Koon; because a few years later, he was introduced and became a disciple of Luang Phor Kong who in fact had spent many years himself as a hermit Monk studying the wicha magic arts.

It wasn't long before LP Koon and LP Kong spent time together as Tudong Monks traveling the isolated highways and camping in remote forests , sometime later it was inevitable that LP Koon headed out alone - honing his skills in sammathi and his knowledge of magic crafts. After many years traveling as a tudong LP Koon returned to the central province of Thailand and stayed at Wat Baan Rai located in the small rural district of Dan Khun Thot in his home town province of Nakhon Ratchasima.
